MEI Awards World-wide Product Launch was held in Shanghai, which was in the same period with China International Hardware Show (CIHS). CIHS is claimed to be the second biggest hardware show. By learning that blowing-filling-capping combiblock from Newamstar Packaging Machinery Co., Ltd is the winner of 2015 MEI contest and Newamstar is the supplier for Coca Cola, Nestle, and C'estbon, the purchasing leader showed high expectation and even wanted to visit this factory at Zhangjiagang if the time was available. He stated that it was hard to find true high quality products and manufacturers and was so luck to know MEI awards so that lots of energy and costs will be saved in the future. At the CIHS fair, MEI committee is also delighted to find many top quality Chinese products. For example, a foldable shovel contains a few gardening tool sets. Thanks to their enhanced versatility as shovels, weapons, camp tools, and even emergency axes and saws, the modest folding shovel has become a staple of life outside. A patented screwdriver artfully contains 30 bits in its body so that it is very convenient for users to carry the 30-in-1 screwdriver and easy to use. These manufacturers told us that there were various contests in China in recent years and they cannot tell which one is better and enjoys high authority in the industry. In addition to the contest, MEI awards committee also organized a series of activities to help winners to promote products and enhance manufacturing capabilities, for example, world-wide product launches, Top supplier visits, business forums, and manufacturing summits. The most shining point of this contest is that this contest is a totally non-profit contest. The MEI contest host “Focus Technology” wants to contribute a little to Chinese manufacturing transformation to Quality and Intelligence. Those suppliers who truly understand MEI are definitely desired to join this event.

On the other side, it is not too difficult to find many suppliers without the idea of design and brand. They only focus on the advantage of cheap prices. Accordingly, we can find that only few buyers visited their booth at the fair. If suppliers in the hardware and tools industry wants to survive in the competitive industry, they must improve product quality, optimize appearance and enhance capabilities.
