The Exhibition Report of MEI Awards Product Launches in U.S.A

MEI Awards worldwide product launches was held in the Magic Show which is the best-known exhibition related to apparel, fabric, material in North America, currently it’s the first show to offer one-stop service from the original materials to finished apparel. This is the second time we were here in U.S.A this year. Magic Show was initiated in 1933, has a history of more than 80 years, owns more than 200,000 square meters, attracts more than 3,000 exhibitors which is a exhibition with the highest rate of head-turning. 

Before the show, MEI Awards committee had widely promoted our event to the buyers in the North America on line, and also with the spread of  some social tools such as FacebookLinked in, and got many feedbacks.  Our booth is in the North Hall with an excellent location, it would just take you less than 3 minutes from the entrance to our booth. This time our booth with splendid decoration on the main entrance had attracted many visitors around. We had took 40 outstanding products from 18 enterprises with its own unique function with us, including the awarded product in 2015, such as the fishing coat, aramid fiber flaming retarding safety webbing, 18 gauge anti-static cut resistant glove, dopedyed fine cool feeling yarn. It’s the first time for us to take the use of model, Hand model video to give an aultiple-angle display of our products, and it was well-regarded.

The voices from buyers: start from Magic

Professional buyers gave more concern on quality: our booth attracted many professional buyers, not only just appreciated the products, but also gave some advices. The first buyer came to our booth aims to source baby products, showed a large interest in three kinds of baby towels in our booth, consulted very detail things such as the material, wiring, size, color, price and so on, then took the sample away when the show was finished, urged us to notice the supplier; the buyer also gave some advice, for example, the texture was a little bit rough to babies, the joint should on the edge of the towel, the design and so on.  The awarded product in 2015 attracted more attention, They told the design of whistle, reflective strip, zip was thoughtful, and took the catalogue for more detailed info. A fishing enthusiasts gave a very high comments on the fishing coat, and guided a captain to our booth, the captain said that it would be very safe if the coat could help people float when they falled down into the water. The fine cool feeling yarn captured a buyer who can only speak Spanish, marked the info in simple English, and left her business card. We can really hear the voice: “that’s it, that’s it” from her heart even though we don’t have the same language.


Heating and waterproof products were the hot products this time: heating products such as the gloves, socks, insoles were extremely popular in our show.  Most people showed their interest in such kind of products. The Physical display amazed the buyers, many buyers even recommended their friends to our booth, the super fans of our booth, Mr. Red asked us to take a video of him, thus he could uploaded it to his “we chat” account. In U.S.A, many cities such as New York, has regular snowstorms in the winter, the temperature is very low, so that kind of products will have a large market demanding, the buyer was just kidding: “ oh that is so coolno~no~ so hot!!!”. Also, America is a sports-loving country, so the waterproof socks attracted their so much. Many buyers yelled out with surprise “impossible” when they saw the heating socks, with the presentation of the video, the buyer had a better understanding of the product testing, some buyer even wanted to be their agent.

 Designers liked garment accessories and designed products most: Magic Show is the vane of fashion, our booth attracted many designers. They were in elegent temperament, liked garment accessories and designed products most, such as: zip, material and so on, different materials bring their different design inspiration, their sense is very unique, for example, the rainboots with fewer visitors attracted them deeply, and told us the natural color is more suitable for the baby products.

The voice of Chinese suppliers: press on !

Sample order beyonded our expectations:  The manger Mr. Liang from one of our suppliers came to our booth for a visit, a buyer showed great interest to his bag just in time, we helped Mr. Liang to communicate with the buyer and finally finished a sample order. The buyer came with a sourcing request, he wanted to sell this kind of bags before Thanksgiving Day, and the approximate quantity was about 1,000. We hope that there will be an efficient cooperation between the buyer and supplier via our on-line and out- of- line promotion ways.


Private brand, lack of promotion ways: We visited nearly 300 Chinese suppliers, hoped to find some designed products with its own brand, but more than 80% supplier just had OEM service. They gave a highly evaluation on our MEI event, some of them already had their own brand and design team, but not very mature in the overseas market, they showed great interest in our activities, and just scanned our QR code on our booth.

Pre-participate in signing up, makes your product more fabulous: We also fond some potential products in the show, such as the solar cap, heating coat, suit and so on, and many enterprise principals gave highly evaluations on not only just our event , but also  our compassion and effort  in promoting the Chinese manufacturing excellence and innovation. Enterprises have the duty to give something back to the society. Many of them participated in our MEI Awards at once, hope to catch the chance.

MEI  Awards in U.S.A stop this August the display of the products lets our ideas rooted deeply in the global buyers’hearts. We’ll bring the outstanding Chinese products to the buyers, at the same time, we’ll carry forward the Chinese manufacturing excellence and innovation not just “made in china” to the world.
